Inlet is designed to outsmart ocean
Adjustable crest weirs allow for controlled sand flow; double jetty system built nearly mile off coast of Florida contains adjustable crest section designed to maintain littoral movement of sand while still keeping channel open; main component of system is 1/4 mi long impoundment basin dredged inside 1800 ft stretch of wall; made up of removable horizontal concrete stop logs, wall can vary crest height from +3 to -2 ft; precast king piles support removable weir sections.
