Two earth dams will be built on western North Dakota highway for dual purpose of providing roadway and impounding reservoirs to create local recreational areas; Sweet Briar Dam will be approximately 1200 ft long, with maximum height of 55 ft, top width of 140 ft, and impervious clay cutoff core in north roadway; Crown Butte Dam is 900 ft long, with maximum height of 50 ft.
