Composite design cuts cost of small warehouse
Composite design proved more economical than conventional design for warehouse in Linden, NJ; floor beams spanning 25 ft were framed into girders running other way at intervals of 23 ft; beam spacing of 7 ft 8 in. on centers was used to support 4 1/2-in. concrete slab on 20-gage Fenestra Holorib galvanized reinforcing form; total saving with composite design for 12,800 sq ft of roof was 10%.
