Evaluation of continuous wire mesh reinforcement in bituminous resurfacing
Two projects in Province of Ontario in which continuous welded wire mesh was incorporated in bituminous resurfacing of portland cement concrete pavements are described; first covers incorporation of continuous reinforcement in 2 mi of 4.3 mi contract for resurfacing dual-lane, controlled-access highway; second project describes four short test sections constructed in 1960 to select method to be employed in widening and resurfacing of 10.3 mi of 20-ft plain concrete pavement built in 1937; design and construction of experimental sections are given, together with observed performance during succeeding 3 yr.
