Foundations have max length of 467 ft and width of 229 ft, including condenser and pump basement; foundations for boiler houses, refuse-preparation house and switch house constructed on precast piles supporting large reinforced-concrete pile caps; water is drawn from and returned to River Thames by pair of tunnels joining two shafts in river with two shafts at power house.
