Deflections in flexible pavements
Research project carried out by Civil Engineering Dept of University of Melbourne to predict deflections in pavements under any loading conditions is described; number of different types of pavement was tested by dual wheels of slowly moving vehicle with three applied axle loads; effect of these loads on vertical deflections both in longitudinal and transverse direction; measurements were made at surface of pavement and at subgrade level; influence of some tractive stresses on these deflections is also included.
