Main feature of D.Bini method of making thin shell domes is in using deformable plastic membrane and, instead of usual rigid reinforcing bars, particular type of flexible steel mesh; mesh is laid on deflated membrane; concrete from ready-mix trucks is placed on membrane as it rests on ground, and both concrete and mesh are lifted to correct position by inflating membrane immediately after concrete is placed.
