A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
It is suggested that while electric field is applied, permeability of soil is increased by factor of 2 or more, thereby reducing time required to introduce grout when pumping at specified pressure; electric field also acts to pump grout into soil or causes development of negative pore pressures near grout pipe which effectively increase grouting pressures without increasing danger of surface heave.
