Upstream bridge over Rhone River at Pierre-Be´
Ite; prestressed concrete twin bridge of Lyon-Marseilles highway over-crosses power plant spillway (50-75-75-50 m spans) and discharge channel (56-84-56 m spans); each of twin decks, 16.9 m and 16.3 m wide, respectively, is formed by two continuous, joined, trapezoidal cross section box beams constructed in cantilever from prefabricated segments, using temporary supports and movable hoisting frame; 2-m diam, 16 m to 19 m high cylindrical piers are founded on 9-m diam, 12 m high caissons sunk in river bed by means of hydraulic undercutting.
