Effect of exposure site on weather resistance of porcelain enamels exposed for three years
Examination of 2160 porcelain enameled specimens of 28 types after exposure for 3 yr at Dallas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Washington, DC, and 2 sites at Kure Beach, NC; changes in gloss and color were taken as criteria of weathering; air pollution by acidic contaminants was factor in site severity; enamels having same acid resistance, did not necessarily show same weather resistance; some with good acid resistance showed poor color stability.
