Erection of hydraulic turbines and generators
Construction procedure for assembling and erecting turbines and generators recommended is based principally on methods used by Tennessee Valley Authority; installations vary from low head, large diameter Kaplan type turbines at Pickwick Landing, Tenn, to relatively high head Francis type units at Hiwassee, NC; fundamental rules apply to all types of installations and give comparable results; steps in erection are presented in order in which they generally occur. (See also - n 3 Mar 1944 p 255-66, n 6 (discussion) June p 1000-2)
