Completion of flood-damage repairs, East Coast main line
Serious flooding and washaway destruction occurred on Aug 12 1948, on London-Edinburgh East Coast main line between Berwick and Dunbar; work of permanent reconstruction has been completed by erection of 71-ft 6-in. steel girders and concrete decking at Bridge 130 enabling down track to be laid over it; brief description of these permanent reconstruction works and preliminary measures taken to facilitate them.
