All-polyethylene system installed underground
New practices applied by Oklahoma Gas and Elec Co in residential underground distribution; concentric primary cable and direct-buried secondary are used, both with polyethylene insulation; system also features polyethylene conduit for primary cables, precast concrete, bolted handholes, and preassembled wood pedestal for service terminations; these practices, plus pad-mount transformers, are aimed at lowering total cost of underground distribution without compounding problems of future maintenance.
