Queenhill bridge over river severn
Description of design and construction of bridge, together with some factors which governed design; bridge has total length of 2466 ft between abutments; there are 27 spans, largest of which measures 237 ft 6 in.; 3 main spans at river are of steel construction, approach spans on either side being of reinforced concrete; almost all foundations are formed of caissons which were sunk to bed of Keuper marlstone.
