Investigation of prestressed reinforced concrete for highway bridges -- 4
Experimental study described was concerned with effect of web reinforcement on strength and behavior of prestressed concrete beams; variables included in test program were -- shape of cross section, prestress level, amount of longitudinal reinforcement, length of shear span, moving loads, concrete strength, and amount and properties of web reinforcement; beams with both straight and draped longitudinal reinforcement were tested; various observed patterns of behavior are classified and procedures are developed to predict inclined cracking load and amount of web reinforcement required to develop flexural failure.
