Tunnel designed by Nashville District of U S Army Corps of Engineers for Laurel River Project; 600 ft long section to be used only for diversion has 17 ft finished diameter; remaining 900 ft section, which will serve first as diversion and later as power tunnel, is 19 ft in diam; use of Eimco rigs for tunneling; lining was placed by concrete pump.
