Behavior of elastic-plastic frames
Behavior of several multistory, one-bay and two-bay planar frames is examined by means of computerized elastic-plastic analysis; each frame is unbraced, fixed at its base, and loaded by static, proportional forces up to maximum load carrying capacity; results of first-order elastic-plastic analyses are used for classifying and explaining behavior of second-order models; magnitudes of second-order effects on both load carrying capacity and deformations are presented; influence of axial deformation is included in examination of frame behavior.
