Reinforced-concrete piles under tension
Considerable saving can be made on cost of piled transmission tower foundations if account is taken of fact that certain types of pile are extremely difficult to extract from ground; simple test devised by Pressure Piling (Parent), Ltd; results of three tests, carried out where different formations were encountered, were very similar, and in each case, 15 tons was safe figure to use.
