Base section of drilling platform to be erected in Cook Inlet, Alaska is 137 ft high and 78 ft wide; after it is positioned upright in 102 ft of water, platform and 140 ft high derrick will be added; finished structure will stand 325 ft above inlet floor; piles will be lowered into 4 hollow 40 in. diam legs of base, and these piles will be driven 120 ft into sea bed; superstructure will be removed each winter because of possible damage by ice floes.
