A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Unsteady flow in pipe lines is analyzed by solving simultaneous partial differential equations adapted to standard analog computer; examples are given of reservoir line with slowly closing valve at downstream end, and reservoir line with periodic valve at upstream end; examples are compared to both experimental and analytical results; analog solution is shown to be accurate and acceptable for most applications.
