A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A jig for setting out flooring planks comprising a platform having a substantially planar underside and a downwardly extending locating leg on a first side of the platform at right angles thereto configured so that the bottom of the planar platform may abut and lie along the top of a rectangular section joist with the locating leg abutting one side of such joist; a facility to permit removable fixing of the jig to a joist; the platform having one or more string attachment facilities on its upper face one of which is located so as to lie directly above the centreline of a joist when the locating leg and platform are abutting the joist; an upstanding face at an extremity of the platform corresponding to its maximum possible projection along a joist; the upstanding face adapted to project substantially perpendicularly upwardly with respect to the underside of the platform.
