The invention relates to dry-mixed external wall plastering mortar and a preparation method thereof. The dry-mixed external wall plastering mortar comprises the following components in parts by weight: 100 parts of river sand, 15-25 parts of cement, 9-16 parts of perlite, 3-7 parts of polypropylene fiber, 3-6 parts of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, 4-7 parts of guar gum, 0.3-0.5 part of a water reducer, 0.5-0.8 part of an early strength agent and 1-3 parts of calcium nitrite. The dry-mixed external wall plastering mortar has excellent tensile adhesive strength and compressive strength and cannot crack and fall after use.
