The invention discloses a reverse seepage drain system suitable for an upstream type tailings pond, comprising a seepage drain blind ditch, a seepage collecting well, a water guiding pipe and a water seepage transfer pipe, wherein the seepage collecting well is embedded in the tailings pond along the vertical direction, and the seepage drain blind ditch is arranged in the tailings pond with a certain slope; the seepage collecting blind ditches are sloped toward the seepage collecting well and are communicated with the seepage collecting well, the seepage collecting blind ditches at the same level are arranged radially with the seepage collecting well as centre; the bottom of the seepage collecting well is communicated with the inverse water guiding pipe, the water guiding pipe is inclined from the down stream of the tailings pond to the upstream of the tailings pond, and the inverse water guiding pipe is communicated with the water seepage transfer pipe finally. The upstream type tailings pond comprises an initial dam and a fill dam, the inverse seepage drain system is arranged in the fill dam, the fill dam area where the inverse seepage drain system is positioned is configured to be a supporting prism for supporting the tailings pond after the seepage is drained completely. The structure is simple, the construction is convenient, the fill area wetting line before the dam can be greatly reduced, and the dam stability is improved.
