The invention relates to a method for preparing a building material by utilizing recycled aggregates and modified plant fibers. The method is simple in process and high in utilization rate of solid wastes; a baking-free brick is light in weight, relatively good in strength, good in durability, good in toughness and crack resistance, low in energy consumption and free of environmental pollution; raw materials include cement, the recycled aggregates, the modified plant fibers and the like and are mixed and uniformly stirred, vibrated and extrusion-molded in a mold to form a brick blank; the brick blank is maintained with steam and then arranged outdoors at normal temperature for a certain time to obtain a finished product.
