The steel rail polishing device comprises a frame, a motor, a driving mechanism and a pressurizing mechanism, wherein the motor is fixedly connected with the frame; the driving mechanism comprises a driving wheel, a driven wheel and a grinding belt connected between the driving wheel and the driven wheel; the pressurizing mechanism comprises two pressurizing wheels, a supporting frame and a pressurizing cylinder; the supporting frame is connected between the two pressurizing wheels; the pressurizing cylinder is connected with the supporting frame; the pressurizing mechanism is located between the driving wheel and the driven wheel; the driving wheel is driven to rotate by the motor; the driven wheel and the grinding belt are driven to rotate by the driving wheel; meanwhile, a piston rod of the pressurizing cylinder extends out, so that a pressing force is applied to the supporting frame; the two pressurizing wheels are driven to descend by the supporting frame and the grinding belt is pressed to the top face and side face of the steel rail, so that the top face and side face of the steel rail are polished, the operation of polishing by enveloping the steel rail by a plurality of grinding wheels from different deflection angles is not required, and the operation efficiency is increased.
