The invention relates to a method for smelting brown aluminum oxide by using dusting powder in the field of brown aluminum oxide smelting. The method comprises the following steps: adding dusting powder in hot water, stirring uniformly with alumdum, preparing granular materials, conveying dewatered granular materials into a blending silo, uniformly mixing with coke and scrap iron, finally, adding materials in an electric smelting furnace layer by layer for reacting, smelting and refining, and then, checking, cooling, grading, crushing and sieving to obtain a finished product of brown aluminum oxide. The method can be used for effectively using the dusting powder to produce and smelt brown aluminum oxide, not only reducing the enterprise production cost, but also correspondingly solving the environmental protection problem of corundum.
