The invention provides a process for smelting brown aluminum oxide through a high-pressure dry powder ball pressing technology. The process comprises the steps that S1, raw materials are prepared, wherein the raw materials are proportioned according to a certain proportion and fully mixed according to test results of raw material components and production requirements; s2, crushing: crushing the mixed raw material obtained in S1 into fine particles by using a Raymond mill; s3, ball pressing: pressing the raw materials crushed in S2 into pellets by using a high-pressure dry powder ball press; and S4, smelting, wherein the pressed raw material balls are directly put into an electric arc furnace to be smelted, and the operation instruction and method are kept unchanged compared with the prior art. The process comprises the following steps: mixing and crushing the raw materials according to a certain proportion according to production requirements, carrying out high-pressure dry powder ball pressing, and finally feeding into an electric arc furnace for smelting. A certain amount of water and a certain amount of a binder do not need to be added into the raw materials, furnace spraying accidents are avoided, raw material particles are fine, various components are evenly distributed, the reaction speed is high during smelting, and energy consumption and smelting time are remarkably reduced.
