The invention discloses a preparation method for a low-chroma aliphatic superplasticizer. The preparation method comprises the following steps: adding sulfite and water into a reaction vessel equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer, a dropping funnel and a reflux condensing tube and carrying out stirring until sulfite is completely dissolved; carrying out heating to 50 DEG C under stirring and gradually adding a cyclic ketone compound into the reaction vessel; carrying out heating to 60 DEG C and dropwise adding an aldehyde compound; after addition of the aldehyde compound, heating a solution to 90 to 95 DEG C and carrying out a thermostatic reaction for 3 to 5 h; adding a molecular weight modifier; and after natural cooling to room temperature, allowing a product to be cured for 2 to 3 h in the reaction vessel so as to obtain the yellow low-chroma aliphatic superplasticizer with a pH value of 9 to 10 and solid content of 30 to 35%. According to the preparation method, sodium hydrogen sulfite and sodium hydroxide produced after hydrolysis of sodium sulfite are used as a sulfonating agent and a catalyst, so volatilization of formaldehyde in the process of sulfonation is avoided, the step of adjustment of the pH value of the solution by using a strongly alkali solution is omitted, process flow is simple, and environmental pollution is reduced; and the cyclic ketone compound is used as reaction monomer to replace traditional acetone, so the chroma of the produced low-chroma aliphatic superplasticizer is reduced.
