The invention provides an outer wall clay sculpture construction method and mortar adopted in using method. The outer wall clay sculpture construction method comprises the steps of manufacturing mortar, positioning patterns, installing a skeleton, conducting painting with lime at a time, conducting painting again, forming a prototype, conducting polishing and fine trimming, coloring the patterns and the like. The mortar adopted by clay sculpture comprises grey factice, sand, cement, brown sugar and glutinous rice flour, wherein the weight ratio of the grey factice to the sand to the cement to the brown sugar to the glutinous rice flour is 40-60:40-60:6-15:0.8-1.2:0.8-1.2. The grey factice is a viscous layer which is formed on the surface of clean water into which shell powder with gravel filtered out is soaked for more than fifteen days. According to the construction method, a supporting piece and a connecting wire are matched to form the skeleton, so that the internal clay sculpture structural connectivity is effectively improved, and the phenomena of disengagement, color fading and the lie are not likely to be generated. The main raw material adopted by the mortar is the shell powder, the grey factice formed after the shell powder is soaked is high in adhesive property, hardness, impermeability and water resistance, and meanwhile the glutinous rice flour in the mortar can improve the impermeability and the water resistance of the mortar.
