The invention discloses a pressing forming method of alpha-alumina powder. The method includes the steps that the alpha-alumina powder is arranged in a die with the diameter not larger than 100 mm, at least three times of die pressing is conducted, the pressure of a press in primary die pressing is at least P, holding time ranges from 1 s to 40 s, the pressure of the press in secondary die pressing is at least P, holding time ranges from 1 s to 40 s, the pressure of the press in tertiary die pressing is at least P, holding time ranges from 1 s to 40 s, and cakes are formed after three times of die pressing. When the diameter of the die is not larger than 30 mm, the pressure P ranges from 3 MPa to 6 MPa, and when the diameter of the die is larger than 30 mm, the pressure P ranges from 3 MPa to 20 MPa. No reagent is added in the pressing process, and the purity of materials is guaranteed. The process is easy and convenient to carry out, and production efficiency is improved.
