The invention discloses an upper opening type weir gate. The upward opening type weir gate comprises a fixed framework. A water passing channel is formed in the fixed framework, and guide grooves are symmetrically formed inside the fixed framework. An opening and closing gate plate is inlaid in the guide grooves and located on the water passing channel. Opening and closing oil cylinders are symmetrically arranged at the two ends of the bottom of the fixed framework, and piston rods of the opening and closing oil cylinders are connected with the opening and closing gate plate. The opening and closing gate plate is driven by the opening and closing oil cylinders to ascend or descend, the two ends of the opening and closing gate plate slide in the guide grooves upwards and downwards, and the opening and closing gate plate can ascend or descend as needed and can stop at any height position to control different distributed water flows or upstream water levels through interception. The opening and closing oil cylinders can be provided with an automatic control system so that the upward opening type weir gate can be automatically controlled in an unattended mode. Besides, the upward opening type weir gate is easy and convenient to maintain and compact in structure and will not affect a ground landscape.
