The invention discloses a preparation method of a continuous-casting tundish working lining slag line coating material, wherein the method successively includes the following steps: (A) crushing dead-burnt magnesium sand through a jaw crusher to obtain large granules; (B) crushing the large granules into small granules being 0.3-3 mm in granular size through a roller crusher; (C) fine-milling partial small granules through a ball-miller into dead-burnt magnesium sand being 0.088 mm in granular size; (D) sieving the small granules according to different granular sizes; (E) weighing the material; (F) crushing recycled waste newspaper into a crusher to obtain wood fiber; (G) conveying the small granules in the step (D) and the dead-burnt magnesium sand in the step (E) through a conveyor belt into a material mixing system tank, and mixing the materials for 6-8 min and transporting the mixed material into a mixing system; (H) after the materials in the step (E) and the step (G) fed into the mixing system, adding 1.0% by weight of wood fiber and stirring the mixture in the mixing system for 3-9 min; and (I) packaging the product to obtain the coating material.
