The invention provides an application method of an automatic door stop. The automatic door stop comprises a shell, an inertial rolling part and a braking device; the braking device comprises an oscillating plate, a torsional spring and a braking column; a hinged shaft is arranged on the shell; a hinged sleeve is arranged at the front end of the oscillating plate; the hinged sleeve is hinged to the hinged shaft; the torsional spring is mounted on the hinged sleeve; one end of the torsional spring is connected with the shell, while the other end of the torsional spring is connected with the oscillating plate; under the action of the torsion of the torsional spring, one side of the tail end of the oscillating plate is suspended in midair; the braking column is connected with the oscillating plate and located under the oscillating plate; the inertial rolling part is located between the front end of the oscillating plate and the inner upper end face of the shell; in use, the inertial rolling part drives the oscillating plate to oscillate downwards, and the oscillating plate oscillates downwards to push the braking column into contact friction with the floor, and therefore, a movable door can be prevented from closing quickly, and a child can be effectively protected from being pinched by the movable door.
