A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The door stop 100 comprises a mounting means 110 for mounting to a door 210, a stopping member 120 and a biasing means 130 for selectively controlling the stopping member between a stopping and non-stopping position, wherein the biasing means automatically actuates the stopping member to the stopping position in response to the door being opened. The biasing means may comprise a spring hinge and a hinge plate with a lip protrusion. The mounting member may be u-shaped and comprise a recess portion to receive the lip protrusion of the hinge plate. The biasing means may comprise a motor and processors communicatively coupled to a wireless communications module. Also claimed is a method comprising mounting the stop to a door and biasing the stopping member to a non-stopping position. The wireless communication means may be used to actuate the biasing means or the locking member.
