The invention discloses a lightning protection device for prefabricated frame columns and a construction method of the lightning protection device. The lightning protection device comprises metal conductors arranged in the prefabricated frame columns in advance. The metal conductors longitudinally penetrate through the prefabricated frame columns, every two vertically adjacent prefabricated frame columns are fixedly connected on a building floor, every two vertically adjacent metal conductors are bent and welded to each other in the building floor, the upper end of the metal conductor in the prefabricated frame column at the topmost end is connected with a lightning arrester, and the lower end of the metal conductor in the prefabricated frame column at the bottommost end is connected with a grounding device. The lightning protection device has the advantages that every two vertically adjacent metal conductors are sequentially welded to form a downlead of the lightning protection device, and the requirements for direct lightning prevention, lightning surge prevention and thunder and lightning electromagnetic pulse prevention are met.
