The invention discloses a hard carbon fiber heat insulation board and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: performing green body vacuum filtration forming, and performing vacuum filtration on two groups of different carbon fiber slurry liquid to form a green body, wherein the bottom and the top of the green body are formed by the two groups of different carbon fiber slurry liquid respectively; performing green body curing forming, heating the green body after filtration to 180-300 DEG C at a heating rate of 0.1-5 DEG C/min; performing green body carbonizing treatment; performing green body surface treatment; and performing green body high temperature treatment to prepare the hard carbon fiber heat insulation board. According to the hard carbon fiber heat insulation board and the preparation method thereof disclosed by the invention, the preparation technology is simple, the requirement of furnace heat-field distribution is met, the performance advantages of different types of carbon fibers are combined, and the hard carbon fiber heat insulation board is widely applied to solar crystal growing furnaces, high temperature heat treatment furnaces, ceramic sintering furnaces, special atmosphere high temperature furnaces and the like.
