The KY inorganic active thermal-insulation mortar is prepared by mixing Light-calcined magnesium oxide, magnesium sulfate, high-strength gypsum powder, sepiolite fiber, trisodium phosphate, boric acid, a glass bead aggregate, Wacker powder, waterproof powder and water. The preparation method comprises the following steps: the above materials are added into a stirrer according to certain weight proportions; stirring is carried out for 5-8min such that a uniform mortar is formed; and the well mixed mortar is smeared on a building wall base surface. With the above method, the prepared KY inorganic active thermal-insulation mortar has high-efficiency fireproof and thermal-insulation properties. The thermal conductivity coefficient, hydrophobicity, volume water absorption and anti-aging property of the product are better than common active thermal-insulation mortars in the market. The compressive strength of the product is higher by more than 2 times that of common active thermal-insulation mortars in the market. The dry density of the product is only half of that of common active thermal-insulation mortars in the market. The mortar has the advantages of high flame retardant property and high wall body bonding strength, such that weight bearing and thermal insulation are integrated. The preparation method is simple, such that operation and production are facilitated.
