The invention discloses a plant fiber and cement composite batten with good machinability. The polystyrene emulsion impregnation process is firstly adopted for surface pretreatment of a plant fiber to enable the inner surface and the outer surface of the plant fiber to be wrapped with a polymer film, and vaporific peppermint oil is sprayed, so that the whole fiber is close-grained, has a certain rigidity and is improved in water resistance; then coal ash is added and modified to replace part of cement, so that the production of calcium hydroxide after hydration is reduced, and the corrosion resistance of the plant fiber is improved. The plant fiber and cement composite batten has the characteristics of being low in heat conductivity, light in weight, good in sound-proof performance, low in product cost, high in added value, convenient for mounting construction and the like, and conforms to the national energy conservation and emission reduction policies.
