The invention provides an automatic field irrigation and drainage system which comprises a water depth detector, a humidity detector, a water conveying pipe, a water absorbing mechanism, a plurality of spray heads, a drainage valve, a camera device and a controller. The water depth detector is arranged in a field and used for detecting the depth of a water layer. The humidity detector is arranged in the field and used for detecting the soil humidity. The spray heads are scattered in the field and connected with the water conveying pipe to be used for spraying a water source conveyed by the water conveying pipe into the field. The water absorbing mechanism is arranged on the water conveying pipe and used for controlling water conveying work. The drainage valve is arranged at the water outlet end of a field ditch and used for controlling drainage of the field ditch. The camera device is arranged in the field and used for taking plant growth pictures. The controller is connected with the water depth detector, the humidity detector, the water absorbing mechanism, the drainage valve and the camera device. The automatic field irrigation and drainage system automatically adjusts the field water amount, and is high in real-time performance, high in automation degree and low in labor cost.
