The invention discloses a dry cylinder liner and a powder metallurgy preparation method thereof. The dry cylinder liner is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 16-42 parts of silicon carbide, 16-34 parts of silicon nitride, 12-27 parts of silicon dioxide, 6-19 parts of zirconium silicate, 7-18 parts of zirconium oxide, 12-35 parts of nanometer calcium fluoride, 8-19 parts of nanometer aluminum oxide, 7-13 parts of nanometer magnesium oxide, 5-18 parts of a dispersing agent and 18-35 parts of water. Compared with the prior art, the dry cylinder liner has the following advantages that (1) the dry cylinder liner is suitable for a large-load engine and an engine with an aluminum alloy cylinder and is convenient to replace and good in heat radiating effect; (2) the dry cylinder liner is good in rigidity, high in toughness and compactness and convenient to mount; and (3) the powder metallurgy preparation method of the dry cylinder liner is simple in process flow, capable of shortening the time and low in energy consumption, and environment pollution is not easily caused.
