The invention provides an environmental friendly stemming for protecting blast furnace. The stemming comprises, by weight, ilmenite concentrate 15%-25%, lapis amiridis 20%-30%, powdered coke 10%-20%, composite clay 10%-15%, carborundum powder 5%-15%, coal gangue 5%-10%, waste firebrick 0%-10%, binding agent 12%-25%, and carbon-containing resin solvent 2%-12%. The binding agent is a carbon-containing resin having the fixed carbon content of 30 m% to 70 m%, and benzopyrene content of not more than 0.008%. According to the invention, the problems of high benzopyrene content in the conventional stemming and serious pollution can be overcome, the hearth and furnace floor in iron notch can be protected so that the corrosion can be slowed, and the lifetime of the blast furnace hearth can be prolonged obviously.
