The invention provides an intercepting device for preventing pedestrians from running the red light. The intercepting device for preventing the pedestrians from running the red light mainly comprises an infrared inductor, an alarm, a shielding rod, a baffle and a timing inductor. The infrared inductor and the alarm are mounted on a signal lamp post on one side of a road. The infrared inductor is connected with the alarm through a central processing unit (CPU) and a circuit system. The shielding rod and the baffle are arranged right in front of the infrared inductor in sequence. A spring device is arranged below the baffle. A hollow rod is arranged in the position of a signal lamp post on the other side of the road. The timing inductor is mounted on the hollow rod and can project a green spectrum wall in front of the baffle. The intercepting device for preventing the pedestrians from running the red light is simple in structure and novel in design; the safety of the pedestrians cannot be threatened when the shielding rod bounces, harm to the eyes of the pedestrians caused by the projected green spectrum wall is avoided, and the pedestrians can be effectively prevented from running the red light.
