The invention relates to a method for determining horizontal rigidity of a foundation pit ring support system. For foundation pit ring support systems (comprising ring beams, launching beams, connecting beams, enclosing purlins and confining pressure loads) in various arrangement forms, a stress distribution coefficient is introduced by a principle that the stress is distributed according to the rigidity, the calculation of the horizontal rigidity of the ring support system is subjected to analytic derivation, and a simple calculation method for the horizontal rigidity of the ring support system is proposed. The calculation is performed with the method, so that the method is reasonable in result, simple, feasible, high in reliability and low in calculation cost, and can provide a basis for a value of a horizontal rigidity coefficient of the foundation pit ring support system.
