The invention belongs to the field of building materials, and particularly relates to heat insulation cement and a preparation method thereof. The heat insulation cement is prepared from, by mass, 10-50 parts of cement clinker, 10-13 parts of vermiculite powder, 5-10 parts of silicon resin, 10-15 parts of epoxy resin, 7-16 parts of group IIIA elementary substances, 0.01-0.1 part of strong base, 1-6 parts of water, 0.1-1.3 parts of coupling agent, 0.3-0.7 part of resin foaming agent and 0.4-3 parts of reaction type curing agent. The heat insulation cement contains heat insulation materials and is of a porous structure, and the preparation process is simple. Thus, the heat insulation cement has excellent heat insulation performance and can be widely applied to buildings.
