The invention discloses iron notch pug sleeve pug and a preparation method and application method thereof. The iron notch pug sleeve pug comprises, by mass, 25-35 parts of white pug, 20-30 parts of clinker, 20-30 parts of coke powder, 15-25 parts of silicon carbide and 10-20 parts of water. The preparation method comprises the steps of uniformly mixing all components, then conducting grinding for 25-35 minutes, and obtaining the iron notch pug sleeve pug. The application method of the iron notch pug sleeve pug comprises the steps of aligning a clay gun at an iron notch, then pouring the pug at the periphery of a gun nozzle, conducting ramming and forming with the gun nozzle as a mold, retreating the clay gun, conducting fine trimming, after the right position is reached through repeated aligning, conducting baking for 0.5-1 hour with soft fire, and then considering that the pug can be applied. The iron notch pug sleeve pug can be used for repairing a tapping hole of a large-size blast furnace and manufacturing a pug sleeve of a tapping hole of a medium/small-size blast furnace.
