The invention belongs to the field of coatings, and especially relates to a novel diatom mud coating. The coating comprises, by weight, 180-300 parts of diatomite, 20-30 parts of an emulsion modifier, 120-150 parts of heavy calcium carbonate, 50-70 parts of white clay, 300-330 parts of water washing sand, 25-30 parts of attapulgite powder, 150-200 parts of calcium hydroxide, 3-8 parts of HPMC, 5-15 parts of an alkali inhibitor, 2-10 parts of an inorganic pigment and 1-5 parts of polypropylene fibers. The diatom mud coating has the advantages of environmental protection, difficult generation of harmful substances, and enhancement of the formaldehyde eliminating, air purifying, sterilizing and deodorizing effects.
