The invention relates to the technical field of rail transit, and discloses a vibration isolator and an outer sleeve thereof. The outer sleeve of the vibration isolator comprises an outer sleeve mainbody, a first cylindrical part and/or a second cylindrical part, wherein the first cylindrical part is detachably connected with the first end part of the outer sleeve main body; and the second cylindrical part is detachably connected with a second end part, which is opposite to the first end part, of the outer sleeve main body. According to the outer sleeve of the vibration isolator, the split outer sleeve main body is spliced with the first cylindrical part and/or the second cylindrical part, so that floating slabs with different thicknesses can be met by matching the first cylindrical partand the second cylindrical part with different heights according to actual requirements, and the processing time is saved.
