Embankment widening method
The invention discloses an embankment widening method which comprises the following steps: excavating foundation pits at intervals along the trend of a line on a foundation of a slope toe of an embankment to be widened, and burying stand column lower end foundations in the foundation pits; placing triangular rib plates between the inner sides of the stand columns and the slope surface of the sideslope of the embankment, wherein the upper edges of the triangular rib plates are flush with the stand columns in height, the lower edges are attached to the slope surface, and the side edges are in rigid connection with the inner sides of the stand columns; arranging soil retaining panels in lap joint with the inner sides of the adjacent stand columns, then compacting filled soil between the triangular rib plates in a layered mode till a soil filling face is flush with the embankment face, and the slope rate of the soil filling side slope above the stand columns is consistent with that of theoriginal embankment side slope face. The method has the beneficial effects that the soil pressure acting on the soil retaining panels is balanced through the friction effect between the triangular rib plates and the newly-filled soil body, so that the anti-sliding and anti-overturning stability of the widened new roadbed is guaranteed. In the construction process, the slope does not need to be excavated, and disturbance to an original roadbed is reduced.
