The method comprises the following steps: mixing silicon carbide powder, metal powder and graphene in a powder mixer, and carrying out ball milling; mixing a binder with water to obtain a mixed binder; adding the mixed binder into the mixed powder for mixing, and then placing the mixture in a hydraulic forming machine for hydraulic forming to obtain a blank; and calcining the blank in a non-oxidizing atmosphere sintering furnace, and performing cooling to obtain the silicon carbide composite material. The composite material disclosed by the invention is low in firing temperature, energy-saving, simple in production process and low in productioncost, has the advantages of long service life, high compressive strength, good thermal shock resistance, good oxidation resistance and the like, and has wide economic and social values.
