The invention relates to railway maintenance equipment, in particular to a railway steel rail weld joint abrasive belt grinding device which comprises a grinding mechanism, a position adjusting mechanism and a rail clamping mechanism, one end of the position adjusting mechanism is hinged to the rail clamping mechanism, and the other end of the position adjusting mechanism is hinged to the grindingmechanism. The position adjusting mechanism is composed of two arms which are hinged to each other, and the position adjusting mechanism is hinged to a hinge shaft of the rail clamping mechanism through a linear bearing. The grinding device can be fixed to a steel rail needing to be ground, the grinding quality can be improved, and dismounting and mounting are convenient and fast; the grinding angle and range can be freely adjusted, and a to-be-ground weld joint area can be effectively covered; the polishing motor is low in power, a small-size and light-weight battery pack can be adopted as apower source, and carrying is convenient.
